The Black Country Skills Factory is hosting a free CNC Machining Skills Breakfast Meeting for High Value Manufacturing (HVM) companies in the Black Country on Wednesday 23 October, 8.00am, at the Business Solutions Centre at Wolverhampton Science Park.
The Black Country Skills Factory is an employer-led project supported by government funding whose aim is to address the skills shortages in the HVM sector in the Black Country, the only scheme of this kind across the UK to focus specifically on the HVM sector.
The Skills Factory is approaching the next phase of the project and is looking to set up a new series of bite-sized training courses and master classes aimed at addressing the widespread skills shortages in CNC Machining. As part of this process, the Skills Factory want to deliver the precise CNC training and up-skilling that HVM companies need from the selection of courses in the portfolio.
HVM companies from the Black Country are invited to the breakfast meeting on Wednesday 23 October from 8.00-9.30am, to discuss their priorities and what the Skills Factory can offer. This open forum is the perfect opportunity in which companies can have their say on what training is provided for HVMs in the Black Country. Parking at the venue is free and there will be a breakfast selection available on arrival.

The Skills Factory team will also be available to discuss bite-sized training courses offered in other key skills shortage areas in the HVM sector. All Skills Factory training and up-skilling is subsidised by 30% as part of the project.
HVM companies will also be able to find out if theyre eligible for a wage subsidy, in addition to the AGE grant, if theyre thinking of taking on an engineering apprentice.
