The Black Country Skills Factory will attend the Dudley Manufacturing Showcase at the Copthorne Hotel in Brierley Hill on Tuesday 1st October.

The Black Country Skills Factory is an employer-led project supported by government funding whose aim is to address the skills shortages in the High Value Manufacturing (HMV) sector in the Black Country, the only scheme of this kind across the UK to focus specifically on the HMV sector.

The event hosted by the West Midlands Manufacturing Club will take place between 8am-12.15pm, and is designed to spotlight the very best Innovation and Manufacturing within the West Midlands region.

The Showcase will see product designers, innovators and manufacturers exhibit their manufacturing capabilities and services, with particular emphasis on supply chain provision into a variety of manufacturing sectors including Automotive, Aerospace, Rail and Construction.

The Skills Factory team will be available to discuss the subsidised bite-sized training courses offered in key skills shortage areas in the HVM sector such as: CNC Machining, Toolroom, Metals and Foundry, Maintenance Multi-skilling, Welding and Lean.

HVM companies in the Black Country will also be able to find out if they’re eligible for a wage subsidy, in addition to the AGE grant, if they’re thinking of taking on an engineering apprentice.
