The Black Country Skills Factory has launched a new Apprentice Wage Subsidy for High Value Manufacturing (HVM) companies in the Black Country who commence a Level 3 apprenticeship from the New Year.
To address the skills shortages in the HVM sector, the Skills Factory is looking to increase the number of engineering apprentices at Level 3.
The new Wage Subsidy is an extension of the current scheme, and will offer £1,250 to Black Country SMEs where an existing Level 2 apprentice progresses to an engineering apprenticeship at Level 3 after 1st January 2014.
The Subsidy, which aims to provide some compensation to employers for the time spent at college, is available at one per company (terms and conditions apply).
